Interactive media researcher and artist. He is a professor at the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo. He holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Information Studies. Centering on the engineering research of display technology, physical interfaces, and digital fabrication, he presents art pieces that incorporate physical materials and environmental elements. He has been recognized with awards including the STARTS Prize 2022 Honorary Mention, the 23rd Japan Media Arts Festival Art Division Excellence Prize.
