SIGGRAPH Asia reminds you that Australian visa regulations (including visa application charges) change from time to time. For all Arrivals into Australia

For all International Arrivals to Australia, including Australians entering Australia are to complete the Incoming Passenger Card as long as you are either

  • Visa holders or
  • Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia

About Australia Visa

Unless you are an Australian citizen, you will need a valid Australian visa to enter the country. New Zealand passport holders can apply for a visa upon arrival in the country. All other passport holders, regardless of age, must apply for a visa before leaving home. All delegates of SIGGRAPH Asia 2023 should have received their Visa Invitation Letter upon their successful registration, please write to registration_asia@siggraph.org if you did not receive after purchasing a conference ticket. Please include your Registration ID in the email for verification. If you have not registered, you may do so here.

Australia Tourist VISA options

There are different Australian visa types available for travellers to Australia. Knowing which Australian visa to apply for depends on the length of your stay, your passport and the purpose of your visit. You’ll also need to meet certain financial and medical requirements, be outside of Australia when applying and maintain health insurance for the duration of your stay.

AUD $150This visa is open to all nationalities, and it allows you to visit Australia for either tourism or business purpose. You may be granted a minimum stay of 3 months or up to 12 months, depending on the circumstance.

Electronic Travel Authority – ETA

(Subclass 601)

AUD $20

The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is an electronic travel visa that is linked to your passport and designed only for tourism and business visitor purposes. This visa allows unlimited visits to Australia, for up to 1 year, with a maximum stay of 3 months per visit.

This visa is only available to passport holders from a list of countries, who live outside of Australia. You may find the list of eligible passports here.

All ETA-eligible passport holders must also apply for ETA using the Australian ETA App which can be downloaded via:

eVisitor

(Subclass 651)

FreeThis is a free visa for multiple visits to Australia for only tourism or business purposes for a stay period of up to 3 months at a time within the year. However, this visa is only available to passport holders from these countries listed here.

Upon identifying the visa that best suits you, you may also head over to the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs official website here to check on the VISA details and conditions.

Applying VISA Online

For Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) Visa, applications are to be done through the Australian ETA app.

For other visas, applications can be done online by creating an ImmiAccount here. Kindly be reminded to submit your application well in advance of your intended travel date to allow sufficient time for processing. The typical processing time for an Australia visa can take up to 3 weeks long, depending on the type of visa and condition.

Upon approval, you will be notified in writing, and it will be digitally linked to your passport submitted during the application.
