Mônica Moura was born in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2014 she was accepted to the University of São Paulo (USP) in the Visual Arts program. Her graduation thesis was a mixed media animated short film called (OvO). The short film was accepted to several international festivals and won the “Films to Festivals award” at the Anima Latina festival (Argentina), and an honourable mention at the Lanterna Mágica Festival (Brazil). She graduated in 2019 with a BFA degree with a concentration in Multimedia. She is currently in the Experimental Animation MFA program at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia/CA.
