Alison Bennett
Biography
I work in ‘expanded photography’ where the boundaries of photography have shifted in the transition to digital-media and diffused with ubiquitous computing. This includes augmented-reality, photogrammetry, and virtual-reality as encompassed by the medium and practice of photography. As a neuroqueer new-media artist, my work explores the performance and technology of gender identity and considers the convergence of biological and digital skin as virtual prosthesis. My work featured on Australian Story, New York Times, Mashable, Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, Motherboard, Creators Project, KillScreen. I have exhibited in galleries and festivals internationally, including San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Musée du Louvre.
