Kotaro Nomura
Biography
Kotaro Nomura loves both musical instruments and electronics. He enjoyed playing various instruments and tinkering with radios. However, one day, when he created a theremin, known as one of the oldest electronic musical instruments, he discovered the joy of combining his passion for instruments with his knowledge of electronics. During his student years, he listened to the requests of VJs performing in clubs and worked on the production of visual equipment.
Since 2009, he has been working as an engineer at Roland Corporation, designing electronic circuits for synthesizers and electronic percussion instruments. He was involved in the development of new and innovative products such as modular synthesizers and electronic cajons. He took on the role of product manager for the electronic Taiko drum, TAIKO-1, released in 2021. He feels proud and joyful to solve the problems of music enthusiasts using electronic technology.
