As part of the Polynoid collective, Jan’s experience in film and CGI comes from nearly 20 years of working in the industry. Trrained as a Film & Media Designer in Cologne from the early 2000’s, Jan moved on to study Film & Animation at Germany’s renowned Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. During his studies, Jan created a number of celebrated short films with his fellow Polynoids, including ‘458nm,’ which garnered top honours worldwide, including Ars Electronica & Siggraph. After a year working abroad at PSYOP NY & their newly opened studio in LA, he returned to Germany to finish his studies & completed the acclaimed graduation short film ‘Loom,’ which won Best in Show at Siggraph 2010. Jan is a founding partner of Woodblock Animation Studio.
