Dr Jessica Korte is passionate about the ways good technology can improve lives, and advocates for the importance of considering the needs of people who are disempowered or disabled by society first. Dr Korte has been awarded an Advance Queensland TAS DCRC Fellowship at the University of Queensland, to develop the Auslan Communication Technologies Pipeline project: a co-design project working with members of the Australian Deaf Community to develop a prototype home assistant which understands Auslan commands and responds in Auslan.
