He skipped from undergraduate school to graduate school of Engineering at Tohoku University in 2001 and received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Tohoku University in 2006. Then, he joined Nagoya Institute of Technology. His interest is subjectivity and embodiment on haptic perception. Product design utilizing haptic illusion, sensorimotor assistance based on haptic feedback, and collaboration and communication system with shared haptic perception have been developed. He also serves as a fellow of Inamori Research Institute for Science for digitalization and applications of haptic sensations, and as Associate Editors on IEEE Transactions on Haptics and Advanced Robotics.
