Gregory Garvey
Biography
Greg Garvey first attended SIGGRAPH in 1982 in Boston while in graduate school at MIT. His subsequent SIGGRAPH activity include multiple contributions to the Art Show, the Educators Conference, as a Panel organizer and contributor and he served for 5 years as a board member of the SIGGRAPH Digital Arts Committee (DAC). He organized the online exhibit "The Aesthetics of Game Play" (http://gameartshow.siggraph.org/gas/). Garvey's interactive installations have been shown in the US, Canada, UK, Europe and India. He teaches at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut where he founded the Game Design & Development Program and served as Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Previously he chaired the Department of Design Art at Concordia University in Montréal, Quèbec where he also founded the Digital Image and Sound Double Major in Fine Arts & Computer Science. Garvey also held appointments at the Digital Media Center for the Arts at Yale University and at the Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT.
