
Biography
Miu Ling Lam is a media artist and researcher of computational imaging and robotics. She holds a PhD in Automation and Computer-Aided Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California Los Angeles, specializing in Art-Science integration. She is currently a faculty member in School of Creative Media (SCM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). She leads the Bachelor of Arts and Science in New Media in SCM and Jockey Club Project IDEA – Inclusive Digital & Experimental Arts at CityU.
Prof. Lam has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, notably including World Cultural Council Special Recognition Award, CityU Teaching Excellence Award, SCM Distinguish Teaching Award, Finalist of Times Higher Education Awards Asia, and Finalist of Best Paper Award in IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR). She chairs the Emerging Technologies program of SIGGRAPH Asia 2023.
