Dr. Marc Carmichael is a Senior Lecturer and an experienced robotics researcher and developer who is passionate about the realisation of robotic technology that aids humans in performing tasks. He is a core member of the University of Technology Sydney Robotics Institute (UTS:RI), where he is the Director of Teaching and Student Engagement. He leads the UTS:RI human-robot interaction (HRI) lab.

Marc received his B.Eng. in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering (2008) and PhD degree (2013) in robotics from the UTS. In 2018 he was named as one of Australia's most innovative engineers by Engineers Australia (EA).
