AI Film Frontiers (AIFF) explores how generative AI is transforming the filmmaking pipeline by not only expanding artistic expression but also redefining how creators collaborate with AI throughout the creative process. The workshop highlights AI-native filmmaking workflows and investigates key technical challenges, including character consistency, multi-shot narrative coherence, audio-visual generation, and effective human-AI collaboration.
AIFF features an international AI Film Challenge that invites creators to submit (1) AI-generated films through FilmFreeway and (2) Technical Reports through the SIGGRAPH Submission System. A successful submission should include both a film and a technical report. Following the SIGGRAPH Proceedings template, each report should include a project overview, the complete creative workflow, the technical problems encountered together with the proposed solutions, and a copyright declaration.
Final winners will be determined through a combination of artistic review, which evaluates cinematic quality and creativity, and technical review, which assesses workflow design and the novelty of technical solutions. Award-winning films, together with their corresponding technical reports, will be presented at SIGGRAPH Asia 2026. The films will be screened during the workshop, while the accompanying technical reports will be formally published in the SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 Proceedings.
