Markus Gross

Markus Gross

Technology to Create the Magic,
DisneyResearch | Studios & ETH Zurich
Markus Gross is the Chief Scientist of the Walt Disney Studios and a professor of Computer Science at ETH Zürich. He is one of the leading authorities in visual computing, computer animation, digital humans, virtual reality, and AI. In his role at Disney he leads the Studio segment’s research and innovation unit, where he and his team are pushing the forefront of technology innovation in service of the filmmaking process. Gross has published over 500 scientific papers and holds over 100 patents. His work and achievements have been recognized widely, including two Academy Awards and the ACM SIGGRAPH Steven Anson Coons Award. Gross is member of multiple academies of science and of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd..
Ran Huang is the Chief Architect of Graphics & Imaging for Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG). He currently serves as the Director of both the Graphics TMG (Technical Management Group) and the Graphics, Media, and Display TMG, where he leads the system-level graphics architecture design for HarmonyOS. With over 17 years of deep expertise in the graphics domain, he previously worked at AMD before joining Huawei CBG in 2016 to lead research and development in graphics and game rendering. He is the pioneer behind Huawei’s consumer gaming standards, profiling tools, and performance analysis methodologies, as well as a core technical contributor to Huawei’s breakthrough GPU Turbo technology. He received his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Beihang University in 2007.

Professor of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, University of Oxford,
Research Scientist and Technical Lead, Meta

Andrea Vedaldi is Professor of Computer Vision and Machine Learning at the University of Oxford, where he co-leads the Visual Geometry Group, one of the most influential computer vision groups worldwide. He is also a technical lead at Meta, working on 3D computer vision and generative AI. Andrea has made contributions across multiple areas of computer vision and machine learning. Andrea is a recipient of the Royal Society Faraday Discovery Fellowship, and a Fellow of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS). He has acted as chair at the European Conference on Computer Vision. His research was recognised by the IEEE Thomas Huang Memorial Prize, the IEEE Mark Everingham Prize, two Best Paper Awards at the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, and the Test of Time Award by the ACM.

Markus Gross
Jun Murai received his Ph.D. in Computer Science, Keio University in 1987, majoring in Computer Science, the Internet, and Computer Communication. Jun Murai is the founder of JUNET (the first network in Japan connecting multiple universities) and WIDE Project (a Japanese Internet research consortium). He has long been engaged in research related to Internet technology platforms and is known as ‘The Father of the Internet in Japan’ and in international circles as the Internet Samurai.
