Notice To All Contributors
All contributors to SIGGRAPH Asia Annual Conferences are now required to use ACM’s rights management system to grant rights to publish accepted content rather than through the online submission system. Essentially, submission tracking, jury review, and acceptance remain the same, but now the rights management is through ACM, the parent organization of SIGGRAPH Asia.
You will be asked to complete an ACM rights management form, which includes permission to record and distribute the audio and video of your recorded presentation through official channels of ACM/SIGGRAPH Asia. For most content types, this will be a Permission and Release form, which allows authors to retain copyright.
As a contributor to an ACM-sponsored event, the following expectations apply to you, should your content be accepted for presentation:
- You have the permission to use everything that is in your presentation. This includes securing permission to use third-party material and providing documentation of that permission to ACM. (More Information on The Proper Use of Third-Party Material In Your Presentation)
- If you are using copyrighted musical compositions in your presentation, you must secure performing rights licenses.
- You must have the authority to grant ACM the right to distribute your presentation.
Once your contribution is accepted, you will receive a link via email to the appropriate form for your contribution. Good luck!
ORCID Mandate
ACM requires that all accepted contributors register and provide ACM with valid ORCID identifiers. This information is collected during the completion of the ACM Rights Form.
You and your co-contributors can create and register your ORCID identifiers at https://orcid.org/register. ACM only requires you to complete the initial ORCID registration process. However, ACM encourages you to take the additional step to claim ownership of all of your published works via the ORCID site.
Attendee Participation/Recording Policy

Additionally, this event’s virtual sessions, chats, questions, and answers will be captured and made available for later viewing. By registering to attend SIGGRAPH Asia 2026, you are granting permission to be recorded during sessions.

Authors of papers (conditionally) accepted to SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 may request deferring their in-person presentation to SIGGRAPH 2027 due to systemic hurdles associated with the Kuala Lumpur location, such as access constraints or substantiated safety concerns. ACM Open Access Policy — Effective 2026
Please be advised that beginning 1 January 2026, ACM will implement a full transition to an Open Access publishing model. This policy will apply to all ACM publications, including those originating from ACM-sponsored conferences held from 2026 onward.
Impact on SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 Contributors:
- The new ACM Open Access policy applies to SIGGRAPH Asia 2026, which takes place 1–4 December 2026.
- Authors submitting to SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 will not be subject to Article Processing Charges (APCs) associated with the new publishing model.
- Under this model, contributors who have accepted work(s) to Art Papers, Technical Communications, and/or Technical Papers will be subject to Article Processing Charges.
For Future Planning:
- For ACM conferences held in 2026 and beyond, papers whose authors are affiliated with institutions participating in the ACM Open program will have their APCs covered.
- Waivers and discounts may also be granted to those institutions that fall under the APC Waivers and Discounts Policy.
- Authors affiliated with non-participating institutions may be required to pay an APC, with discounted rates (65%) in place during a transition period throughout 2026:
- – $250 APC for ACM/SIGGRAPH members
- – $350 for Non-members
We recommend that authors and institutions review ACM’s Open Access policy to understand how these changes may affect future submissions.
