Designing Active Time Lore for 'FINAL FANTASY XVI'
DescriptionFor a narrative-driven title with deep and complex lore, player understanding of the in-game world is crucial for immersion. The frequent introduction of unique terms, however, can often prevent players from grasping every facet of the story being told. In this session, we will demonstrate how we implemented Active Time Lore—a complimentary lore feature designed specifically for FINAL FANTASY XVI—to address this issue and help players better understand the realm of Valisthea by providing a selection of hand-curated lore entries made available in real-time during both cutscenes and general gameplay.
