Submission Deadline: 18 June 2026, 23:59 AoE
In an era where online meetings have become the norm, what is the true value of attending an event in person? One undeniable reason is to foster organic connections among people—to “weave” them together, echoing this year’s SIGGRAPH Asia theme, “Weaving the Future.” However, another crucial significance is the opportunity to experience cutting-edge research with all five senses (or more) by engaging with working demos firsthand. Emerging Technologies is the platform dedicated specifically to this purpose.
Creating functional and experiential prototypes is a crucial step towards novel technological innovations. Therefore, the Emerging Technologies program plays a vital role within SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH Asia in driving the development of research communities and making a great impact on the public.
At SIGGRAPH Asia, we are looking for submissions that use novel interactive technologies that have possibilities to bring benefits, usefulness, or comfort into our future lives. These technologies may include, but are not limited to:
  • 3D interaction
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Brain-machine interface
  • Display technologies
  • Embodied interaction
  • Food and kitchen
  • Haptics
  • Health and wellness
  • Interactive visualization and other graphics technologies
  • Multi-/cross-modality
  • Perception/cognition
  • Prosthetics and human augmentation
  • Robotics
  • Sensors
  • Smart materials
  • Social and collaboration technologies
  • Sports
  • Art / CG education
  • Interactive techniques education
  • Tangible UI
  • Telepresence/Telexistence
  • VR, AR and XR
  • Wearables
Feel free to submit your work even if it does not fall under the list of categories above. If it is new, amazing, and exciting, we want to see it at SIGGRAPH Asia 2026!
All submissions will be peer-reviewed by experts in relevant fields on technical innovation and novelty, craftsmanship, and demonstration value. The Emerging Technologies program committee will make the final selection.
The main form of presentation at Emerging Technologies is a working demonstration that provides a wow experience to the audience. Running an Emerging Technologies demo is hard work but also rewarding. Your work will be experienced by thousands of people and widely reported in the media.
Accepted Emerging Technologies works will be presented as ongoing demonstrations throughout SIGGRAPH Asia 2026. Technical support will be provided to make the most of each demo. If your work is accepted, you will have the opportunity to give a technical presentation, advertised in the conference program. Media outreach efforts will be organized to further increase awareness and publicity. A promotional video will be widely distributed, and an extended abstract and video of each exhibit will be distributed through the ACM Digital Library for SIGGRAPH Asia 2026. Also, if you want to give an oral presentation about your work, you may do so during the Emerging Technologies Talks session at SIGGRAPH Asia 2026.
The best demonstration will be selected for the “Best Demo Award” by the Emerging Technologies Awards Committee.
The deadline for submission to the Emerging Technologies program is 18 June 2026, 23:59 AoE. Please return to this page often for further submission details and use the contact form if you have any questions.

Review Process
SIGGRAPH Asia Emerging Technologies is a peer-reviewed demonstration. All submissions to the program will be reviewed by the program committee and external reviewers, which consists of industry, research, and academic professionals in the fields of graphics, computer-human interactions, display systems, computing, entertainment, design, systems engineering, interface devices, art, and related fields. Reviewing is single-blind, i.e., the names of the reviewers are hidden from the author. If your work is not accepted, that is not a reflection on its quality. Because of space limitations, we are able to accept only a limited number of pieces.
Notification
Submissions will be reviewed soon after the submission deadline. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent via email on 7 August 2026.

All contributors to SIGGRAPH Asia Annual Conferences are now required to use ACM’s rights management system to grant rights to publish accepted content rather than through the SIGGRAPH Asia Submission System. Essentially, submission tracking, jury review, and acceptance remain the same, but now the rights management is through ACM, the parent organization of SIGGRAPH Asia.
You will be asked to complete an ACM rights management form, which includes permission to record and distribute the audio and video of your recorded presentation through official channels of ACM/SIGGRAPH Asia. For most content types, this will be a Permission and Release form, which allows authors to retain copyright.
As a contributor to an ACM-sponsored event, the following expectations apply to you, should your content be accepted for presentation:
  • You have the permission to use everything that is in your presentation. This includes securing permission to use third-party material, and providing documentation of that permission to ACM (More Information On The Proper Use Of Third-Party Material In Your Presentation).
  • If you are using copyrighted musical compositions in your presentation, you must secure performing rights licenses.
  • You must have the authority to grant ACM the right to distribute your presentation.
Once your contribution is accepted, you will receive a link via email to the appropriate form for your contribution.

Detailed information and instructions as well as deadlines will be sent to submitters along with the acceptance letter.
At the Conference
The main form of presentation in Emerging Technologies is a live demonstration, which will be available throughout the conference. You are responsible for ensuring that your demonstration is manned during all opening hours of the Emerging Technologies area. This is hard work, and over several days there will be thousands of people passing through your demonstration. Leaving the demo entirely to SVs or involving them in the procurement of equipment is not allowed. Also, please note that SVs cannot be used to operate expensive demonstration equipment. Therefore, before submitting, make sure that you will have the resources to send sufficient staff to SIGGRAPH Asia. We recommend at minimum two people, but four or even more could be needed depending on the nature of your work. To facilitate this, SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 provides passes that allows access to the Emerging Technologies demonstration area.
You will have the opportunity to give a short presentation, where you can explain your work in greater detail than it is possible in a demo situation. Details on this presentation will be included in the acceptance notification.
Publication
All accepted work will be documented in the SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 website and distributed through the ACM Digital Library.
Presenter and Contributor Recognition
Presenters/Contributors of each accepted submission have to register for at least one conference pass. Please visit our registration page to view the various registration categories for each program.
Please see the Recognition Benefits for a summary of what you will receive if your work and/or proposal are accepted by SIGGRAPH Asia 2026.
You can apply for discount code via the submission system, one presenter per accepted submission.
Once your contribution is accepted, you will receive a link via email to the appropriate form for your contribution. You will be required to prepare the final print-ready file following the specifications in the acceptance notification.
At The Conference
Contributors are expected to be present at their works during the entire period of the exhibition. If the booth is left unwatched for prolonged periods, contributors will risk having their accepted work revoked and removed from ACM Digital Library and SIGGRAPH Asia.
Please kindly note that if you require additional assistance to watch and operate your equipment or art piece during exhibition hours, contributors shall arrange for additional manpower prior to the event. There will not be dedicated Student Volunteers assigned to your booth(s).

Submission Process

Q1. Should I send video documentation of my piece?

Yes, if at all possible. Video documentation is highly recommended. Time-based documentation is the best way to illustrate how conference attendees will experience your project. We may also use the video in publicity for Emerging Technologies.

Q2. May I submit my unfinished work as a “work in progress” if it is not complete by the submission deadline?

A work in progress may be submitted if it represents a large portion of the final version. However just a video prototype is not enough but a functional prototype should be needed before the deadline. Please explain in detail what additions will be made prior to the installation on the extended abstract. You will need to convince the reviewers that your work will be ready for demonstration in time for the conference.

Q3. I am having trouble uploading the high-resolution digital image required for online submission. What should I do?

If, due to bandwidth restrictions, you cannot upload a high-resolution image or supplemental movies, please instead upload a lower-resolution version. If we need to include a higher-resolution version for reviewers’ review or publication stills, we will contact you to make arrangements.

Q4. My email address will be changing soon. How can I notify you of the update?

You will be able to change your email address in the SIGGRAPH Asia Submission System.

Q5. I have completed the online submission forms, but the system still allows me to edit my account. Am I done?

Yes. But you are allowed to edit your online submission account until the deadline: 18 June 2026, 23:59 AoE.

Q6. Can I submit a paper, brief, poster, or other work in addition to my Emerging Technologies proposal? Can I submit an Emerging Technologies proposal if the work has already been presented at a previous SIGGRAPH conference?

Yes. For instance, you could submit a demonstration based on a paper published at a previous SIGGRAPH conference. Be sure to list these related submissions in your proposal and make clear how your Emerging Technologies proposal expands on and is different from these.

Some work might be relevant to multiple Programs (e.g. both Emerging Technologies and XR). For SIGGRAPH Asia 2026, we encourage you to submit the work to any Program that it could be accepted into.

In that case please email the respective program chairs (etech_asia@siggraph.org and xr_asia@siggraph.org) and notify them about this, then the program chairs will decide which program this work best fits in and only judge it in that category.

Q7. Can I submit the same piece to multiple programs?

No. Submit your work to the program you feel is most appropriate.

Upon Acceptance

All accepted work will be documented in the SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 website and distributed through the ACM Digital Library.

Q1. What will SIGGRAPH Asia support if the project is accepted?
