Oliver Pilarski is a research team leader at Netflix's Eyeline Studios. Since 2003, he holds an M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Stuttgart. Early in his career he worked on large-scale water simulations at Scanline. In 2008, he was jointly recognized with an AMPAS Technical-Achievement Award for the development of the FlowLine fluid effects system. Since 2022, Oliver joined the research department at Netflix's Eyeline Studios and is currently leading a small team focusing on computer vision and relighting. Parts of his recent work on volume capture technology was honored with a shared VES-Emerging-Technology Award in 2024.
