Hirokazu Takahashi was born in Sendai, Japan, in 1975. He received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1998, 2000, and 2003, respectively. He has joined Department of Mechano-Informatics, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo, as an assistant professor in 2004, and become a professor in 2023. His research interests include neuro-engineering for human augmentation and experimental neuroscience for understanding the bio-intelligence using dissociate neuronal culture in petri dishes (in vitro), thalamo-cortical auditory system in rodents (in vivo), and cerebral cortex in humans (clinical study).
