YUICHIRO TAKEUCHI is a Toronto-born computer scientist currently based in Kyoto. The goal of his research is to bring about a new era of bottom-up, computational urbanism — a future in which cities are collectively designed and built by citizens like the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. His work has been recognized with multiple domestic and international awards such as the ACM CHI Best Paper Award. He is an active member of the academic community, and has served in various leadership roles including general chair of ACM ISS 2018.
