
Biography
Yasushi Ikei earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1988. Following his tenure as a Professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University, he transitioned to the University of Tokyo as Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology. His research interests encompass the domains of virtual reality, ultra-reality, and extended-reality (XR). Notably, he has dedicated his efforts to the development of user meta-experiences, founded upon comprehensive, whole-body multisensory stimulation in a passive context. He is a member of ACM, IEEE, and JSME, and is currently the President of the Virtual Reality Society of Japan.
