Atsushi Yamashita received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Engineering, the University of Tokyo in 1996, 1998, and 2001, respectively. He was an Assistant Professor at Shizuoka University (2001–2008) and a Visiting Associate at Caltech (2006–2007). He became an Associate Professor at Shizuoka University (2008–2011) and later at the University of Tokyo (2011–2022). Since 2022, he has been a Professor at the University of Tokyo. His research focuses on robot vision, image processing, and intelligent robot systems. He is a member of ACM, IEEE, JSPE, RSJ, and several other professional societies.
