Beginning his career in production Simeon has been an active researcher and educator in fashion technology. Having gained a PhD focused on ease requirements in clothing he has sought to establish methods to engineer patterns to bodies using body scanning technology and pattern software. He is a lead member of the Apparel Design Engineering group at the University of Manchester.
