Biography
Roberto Valencia (Beto Val) is an Ecuadorian advertising professional and digital artist with over 20 years of experience as a creative director. He co-created the children's magazine ¡elé! and the comic "Capitán Escudo", Ecuador’s first superhero. He directed the animated short "Capitán Escudo: The Origin of the Tricolor Superhero" (2015) and several 2D animated series for Ecuadorian public television. Drawing from his experiences as a foreigner in Madrid, he wrote the story that inspired the short "The Strange Case of the Human Cannonball", which he also directs. His work often explores Ecuadorian traditions, creating engaging content for children.
