Kei Kanamori was born on November 30, 2001, in Tokyo, Japan. He is a Japanese artist and filmmaker known for his unique approach to 3D animation and visual experimentation with Japanese traditional culture such as Japanese calligraphy and origami. His capstone project at Digital Hollywood University in Tokyo, a CGI animated short film called "Origami," was selected for the SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater 2024, marking the first time in 16 years that a Japanese student project was chosen, and it became the first Japanese film to win the Student Academy Awards.
