Kaan Akşit is an Associate Professor of Computational Light at University College London, leading the Computational Light Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Koç University, Türkiye, in 2014, and his M.Sc. in electrical power engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 2010. Kaan's research, focusing on the intersection of light and computation, is renowned in optics and graphics, particularly in display technologies for 3D, virtual reality, and augmented reality. He has interned at Philips Research and Disney Research and was a Senior Research Scientist at NVIDIA from 2014 to 2020.
