Xiaopeng Zhang is a professor and a supervisor of PhD candidates in the State Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Systems (MAIS), Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was a lecturer in Department of Mathematics, Northwest University. He received his Ph.D. majoring in Computer Graphics in the State key Laboratory of Computer Science, Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in February 1999. He became a research associate professor /professor in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences then.

He had advised ten PhD and master students. He had more than 150 publications, including more than 120 papers indexed by SCI, like ACM TOG, IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TIP, IEEE TMM, IEEE TGRS, IEEE TVCG. He has 40 patents.
