Biography
I am a Research Scientist working at Inria Rennes since 2015. I received my PhD from INSA Rennes in 2010 on the topic of the dynamic adaptation of human motions for virtual characters, before joining the GV2 group at Trinity College Dublin, working as a Research Fellow under the supervision of Pr. Carol O’Sullivan (2011-2014)'. I then joined the MimeTIC team at Inria Rennes in 2015. My research interests include real-time character animation and perception of virtual humans, with the goal of bridging the gap to propose novel animation based on how we perceive and interact with such virtual characters. My work has therefore focused on proposing and evaluating novel character and crowd animation methods, as well as on evaluating the factors that make virtual characters appear to be visually believable. I have recently also be highly involved on the topic of virtual avatars, more specifically in the context of how to produce and use avatars that will enable to elicit in the user a sense of embodiment (i.e., that the virtual body is their body).
