ANIMINS project: Developing AI-based creator’s support tools for Anime production (In Japanese) アニメ制作とAI支援技術の可能性

OLM Digital Inc. has been accepted into the “GENIAC (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge)” project, a project to strengthen the development of generative AI by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and NEDO.
We clearly position AI as “a supporting tool for creators”. We will thoroughly investigate whether AI can really be used in the anime production process. We will investigate two technologies:
(1) AI utilization in core production processes of key animation, in-betweens, and finishing work.
(2) AI-assisted character drawing support.
We will research and investigate this in collaboration with universities and startup companies. We have named this research project ANIMINS (ANIMe INSight).
This session will feature:
- An overview of the ANIMINS project
- A presentation on similar image search technology by our project member, AI Mage Inc.
- A panel discussion with various anime production companies in Japan
Through these presentations and discussions, we aim to explore the real potential of AI in anime production.
