Complimentary Tokyo City Tours & Cultural Programs - Specially for SIGGRAPH Asia attendees

Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau is offering complimentary hospitality programs during SIGGRAPH Asia 2024, specially tailored for registered overseas attendees. These programs provide our attendees with a range of experiences in Tokyo and its surrounding areas, from nature and culture to other attractions. (Please note that the tour courses may be subject to changes)

Wearing traditional KIMONO, participants will experience traditional Japanese culture and enjoy the downtown atmosphere of the elegant streets of Asakusa.

teamLab Borderless, located in Azabudai, has various immersive genre-blending galleries and installations. You will also visit one of the famous traditional temples, Zojoji.

Through a cruise on the Sumida River, you will see scenery from downtown Asakusa to other parts of the city. You can discover a world separate from the high-rise buildings of the city at the beautiful Hamarikyu Gardens.

After visiting Kanda Shrine, founded approximately 1,300 years ago in present-day Otemachi, visitors will enjoy food, shopping, and other activities at Senkyaku Banrai, a recreation of an Edo period townscape.

Relax and enjoy the view from the observation deck located at 150 meters in the Tokyo Tower. Afterwards, visitors will enjoy the view of Rainbow Bridge and a stroll around the Odaiba area.

Experience the night view from the observatory of the modern Roppongi Hills before taking in the old-town atmosphere of a bar district in Shinjuku. You can see two sides of Tokyo!

After enjoying the view from the SKYTREE, the world’s tallest radio tower, visitors will spend time at Tokyo Solamachi, which houses a planetarium, an aquarium, restaurants, and more than 300 stores.

Tokyo Cultural Programs – Held at Tokyo International Forum

Culture

Amezaiku Experience
Capacity: 10 participants

Amezaiku is the Japanese craft of lollipop-making, which dates back to the 700s when artisans made mouthwatering and artistic lollipops to be presented as gifts.

Furoshiki Experience

Capacity: 20 participants

Furoshiki is a traditional square cloth that can be used to carry things. Through this wrapping experience, learn Furoshiki techniques and discover a more eco-friendly way to carry household items.

Calligraphy Experience

Capacity: 20 participants

You can experience writing the letters for yourself. Through the calligraphy experience, you can also learn about the history of calligraphy, tools, and the meaning of Kanji characters.

Tea Ceremony Experience

Capacity: 30 participants

Sado, also known as chanoyu, is the traditional, ritualized preparation and serving of powdered green tea by a host for the enjoyment of their appreciative guests.

Tokyo City Tours & Cultural Programs – Registration

* Each person may register for only one program. Non-registered family members and companions are welcome to join the tour. However, a registered badge holder must be present during the registration of tours or cultural programs.

Please sign up for the programs at the TOKYO CITY INFORMATION DESK located near the SIGGRAPH Asia 2024 registration area at The Tokyo International Forum, and remember to bring along your SIGGRAPH Asia 2024 event badge. 
*The registration process may be subject to changes.

1. Visit the Information Desk and select/register for a Tour or Cultural Program.
※If fully booked, alternative tours will be offers, or you will be placed on a waiting list.

2. Arrive at the Information Desk 15 minutes before the tour departure timing
※Show your confirmation email.

3. The tour guides will bring you to either the Tour Bus, or Room where the Cultural Program will take place.

Important Notices

  • Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Only overseas conference participants are eligible for the Complimentary Hospitality Program.
  • By registering for the programs, you agree to the travel conditions.
  • The itineraries may be subject to changes.
  • Please arrive and gather at the TOKYO CITY INFORMATION DESK 15 minutes before the tour starts.
  • Participants of the complimentary hospitality programs may be photographed/filmed by authorized personnel for records and future Tokyo City promotion. By registering for the programs, you agree that your image may be used in full/in part and distributed for these purposes.
  • If you choose to leave the group during the tour, you do so at your own risk. Please inform your tour guide in advance.
