Do I need a Visa to enter Hong Kong?
- Nationals of approximately 170 countries and territories can visit Hong Kong without a visa/entry permit for periods ranging from 7 to 180 days.

Who Requires a Visa?
This entry arrangement excludes:
- Mainland Chinese residents
- Taiwan residents (except Chinese residents of Taiwan living overseas)

How to Apply for a Visa
Online Application
Use the Online Application Service to apply for entry to Hong Kong for visits or transit. This service does not cover extensions of stay.
Other Application Methods
If online application is unavailable, you can apply via:
- By Post Send your application directly or through a local sponsor in Hong Kong to:
Receipt and Despatch Sub-Unit
Ground Floor, Administration Tower, Immigration Headquarters,

New Territories
- At your nearest Chinese Diplomatic or Consular Mission:
If you are residing overseas, visit the nearest mission. - For Foreign Passport Holders in Mainland China
Submit your application to the Immigration Division at the:- Office of the Government of the HKSAR in Beijing; or
- Immigration Division of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai (SHETO)
Processing Time:
It typically takes 4 weeks to process a visa/entry permit once all required documents are received. Applications will not be processed without complete documentation.
Before proceeding with your application, it is advisable to check with the embassy or consulate to which you intend to apply for further guidance.
