Seitz (University of Washington)\n\ nGiven an input painting, we reconstruct a time-lapse video of how it may be painted. We formulate this as an autoregressive image generation probl em, in which an initially blank "canvas'' is iteratively updated. The mode l learns from real artists by training on many painting videos.\nOur appro ach incorporates text and region understanding to define a set of painting "instructions'' and updates the canvas with a novel diffusion-based rende rer. The method extrapolates beyond the limited, acrylic style paintings o n which it has been trained to show plausible results for a wide range of artistic styles and genres.\n\nRegistration Category: Full Access, Full Ac cess Supporter\n\nLanguage Format: English Language\n\nSession Chair: I-Ch ao Shen (The University of Tokyo) URL:https://asia.siggraph.org/2024/program/?id=papers_225&sess=sess108 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
