SUMMARY:Embodied Movement and Generative Media Performance
DESCRIPTION:Augustus Wendell and Jingqiu Guan (Duke University)\n\nThis pa
 per documents an interactive dance performance installation taking place i
 n an 8 foot cubic mesh projection volume. The work centers on the immigran
 t detention facility on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay. The performer i
 nteracts with and controls media projections captured from the detention c
 enter, San Francisco Bay and archives of the Chinese American immigrant co
 mmunity. A real time camera based motion tracking system orchestrates and 
 triggers responsive  projections on the cube surfaces in response to the p
 erformer's movements. Each chapter engages different parts of the performe
 r's body and different key movements to interact with the projected media.
