SUMMARY:Embodied Movement and Generative Media Performance
DESCRIPTION:Art Papers\n\nAugustus Wendell and Jingqiu Guan (Duke Universi
 ty)\n\nThis paper documents an interactive dance performance installation 
 taking place in an 8 foot cubic mesh projection volume. The work centers o
 n the immigrant detention facility on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay. T
 he performer interacts with and controls media projections captured from t
 he detention center, San Francisco Bay and archives of the Chinese America
 n immigrant community. A real time camera based motion tracking system orc
 hestrates and triggers responsive  projections on the cube surfaces in res
 ponse to the performer's movements. Each chapter engages different parts o
 f the performer's body and different key movements to interact with the pr
