DESCRIPTION:Emily Kim (Sam Houston State University)\n\nGraphic designers 
 are responsible for fostering cultural inclusion and belonging through the
 ir work. Integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles int
 o Graphic Design education enriches cultural understanding and broadens ac
 cess to diverse perspectives, particularly in smaller communities. Embraci
 ng DEI allows students to communicate effectively with multinational audie
 nces through visual literacy.\n\nThis presentation highlights student work
  from a university in a small community in Texas.They explored their ident
 ities and cultural backgrounds through a class poster design project, addr
 essing topics like race, gender identity, religion, and social class. Thei
