 \nWe propose concept to convey presence by transmitting footsteps and vibr
 otactile cues from one space to another.  Our prototype uses floor-mounted
  microphones to capture footsteps and underfloor transducers to create mov
 ing vibrations elsewhere. Preliminary experiments showed that users can pa
 rtially perceive the direction and trajectory of the transmitted vibration
