SUMMARY:Godzilla Minus One
DESCRIPTION:Computer Animation Festival\n\nKiyoko Shibuya, Masaki Takahash
i, and Takashi Yamazaki (SHIROGUMI INC.) and Keiichiro Moriya and Go Abe (
ROBOT COMMUNICATIONS INC.)\n\nIn postwar Japan, Godzilla brings new devast
ation to an already scorched landscape. With no military intervention or
government help in sight, the survivors must join together in the face of
despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror.\n\nFrom renowned dir
ector, screenwriter & VFX visionary Takashi Yamazaki (The Eternal Zero, S
tand By Me Doraemon) comes GODZILLA MINUS ONE, a film about the power of h
ome in the face of despair.\n\nThe film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Ham
abe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuran
osuke Sasaki, with music by Naoki Sato.\n\n[Accomplishments]\n\n- The best
Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, marking the first time an Asia
n film has received.\n- Godzilla Minus One is the highest grossing Japanes
e Film in US Box Office History.\n\n[Innovations]\n\nWhile there are only
610 VFX shots, they account for two-thirds of the total runtime.\n\nTo mai
ntain photorealistic expression while reducing the workload, we filmed man
y scenes in parking lots with road conditions similar to the era, utilizin
g the shadows and effects of people and objects.\n\nIn this production, ab
out 35 core members were responsible for the creation, but there were only
5 dedicated FX artists. The rest of the staff consisted of generalists wh
o handled multiple roles.\n\nNot only the VFX team but also the filming st
aff share the final image.\n\nOne of the reasons why such optimization of
VFX is possible is that the director himself creates storyboards, holds me
etings with many staff members, and the scene construction staff directly
creates pre-visualizations and then returns to the storyboard. By repeatin
g this process for over two months, we achieve significant results.\n\nReg
