SUMMARY:Godzilla Minus One
DESCRIPTION:Computer Animation Festival, Key Events\n\nKiyoko Shibuya, Mas
aki Takahashi, and Takashi Yamazaki (SHIROGUMI INC.) and Keiichiro Moriya
and Go Abe (ROBOT COMMUNICATIONS INC.)\n\nIn postwar Japan, Godzilla bring
s new devastation to an already scorched landscape. With no military inte
rvention or government help in sight, the survivors must join together in
the face of despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror.\n\nFrom
renowned director, screenwriter & VFX visionary Takashi Yamazaki (The Eter
nal Zero, Stand By Me Doraemon) comes GODZILLA MINUS ONE, a film about th
e power of home in the face of despair.\n\nThe film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki
, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura And
o, and Kuranosuke Sasaki, with music by Naoki Sato.\n\n[Accomplishments]\n
\n- The best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, marking the first
time an Asian film has received.\n- Godzilla Minus One is the highest gros
sing Japanese Film in US Box Office History.\n\n[Innovations]\n\nWhile the
re are only 610 VFX shots, they account for two-thirds of the total runtim
e.\n\nTo maintain photorealistic expression while reducing the workload, w
e filmed many scenes in parking lots with road conditions similar to the e
ra, utilizing the shadows and effects of people and objects.\n\nIn this pr
oduction, about 35 core members were responsible for the creation, but the
re were only 5 dedicated FX artists. The rest of the staff consisted of ge
neralists who handled multiple roles.\n\nNot only the VFX team but also th
e filming staff share the final image.\n\nOne of the reasons why such opti
mization of VFX is possible is that the director himself creates storyboar
ds, holds meetings with many staff members, and the scene construction sta
ff directly creates pre-visualizations and then returns to the storyboard.
By repeating this process for over two months, we achieve significant res
ults.\n\nRegistration Category: Enhanced Access, Full Access, Full Access
