We develop a graph- based Finite Element Method model that reformulates elastic strain energy for fracture simulation and adds negligible overhead over FEM. It models f racture on the graph induced in a volumetric mesh with tetrahedral element s. We relabel the edges of the graph using a damage variable to propagate the fracture. We enhance this method with probabilistic damage mechanics t o model fracture in materials with impurities.
