SUMMARY:3D Geometric Synthesis for Critical Applications

 \nMy research uses geometric tools to enable completely new workflows in 3
 D shape synthesis. I build algorithms that not only allow users to fully e
 xpress themselves through 3D creative content creation, but also guide the
 m towards task-specific design for applications like fabrication and simul
 ation. I use mathematical tools to quantify the uncertainty in the 3D geom
 etric capture process so that it can be communicated to decision-makers in
  critical industries. My goal is to build a world in which designing, acqu
 iring and processing 3D geometric information does not require two-dimensi
