M ain subdivision stencil parameters of the unified scheme are represented a s spline functions of the subdominant eigenvalue $\lambda$ of respective s ubdivision matrices and the $\lambda$ value can be selected within a wide range to produce desired properties of refined meshes and limit surfaces w ith optimal curvature performance in extraordinary regions. Spline represe ntations of stencil parameters are constructed based on discrete optimized stencil coefficients obtained by a general tuning framework that optimize s eigenvectors of subdivision matrices towards curvature continuity condit ions. To further improve the quality of limit surfaces, a weighting functi on is devised to penalize sign changes of Gauss curvatures on respective s econd order characteristic maps. By selecting an appropriate $\lambda$, th e resulting unified subdivision scheme produces anticipated properties tow ards different target applications, including nice properties of several o ther existing tuned subdivision schemes. Comparison results also validate the advantage of the proposed scheme with higher quality surfaces for subd ivision at lower $\lambda$ values, a challenging task for other related tu ned subdivision schemes.\n\nRegistration Category: Full Access\n\nSession Chair: Oded Stein (University of Southern California, MIT) URL:https://asia.siggraph.org/2023/full-program?id=papers_900&sess=sess144 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
