 en-\ntations of fundamentally 3D concepts. We present a visualisation\nof 
 vector arithmetic in virtual reality with full hand presence and\nlateral 
 motion, demonstrating how this new technology can be\nused to enhance stud
 ent engagement and understanding. We detail\nsufficiently powerful afforda
 nces to convey ideas such as compound\noperations, yet simple enough to be
  digestible by average under-\ngraduate students in a 1st year university
