SUMMARY:Internet Civilization: A New Frontier for Humankind

 network of computers. It is a civilization, born from the basic sciences o
 f mathematics and physics, and nurtured by human ingenuity.\n\nFor the fir
 st time in history, the Internet has created a truly global single space. 
 This has profound implications for our society, our economy, and our way o
 f life.\nOne of the most striking features of Internet Civilization is its
  speed. The speed of light provides a latency of just 133 milliseconds bet
 ween any two points on the planet. This has enabled new forms of communica
 tion and collaboration that were unimaginable just a few decades ago.\n\nF
 or example, Internet Civilization has made it possible for people to play 
 games with each other in real-time, even if they are on opposite sides of 
 the world. It has also made it possible for doctors to perform surgery on 
 patients remotely.\nIn addition to its speed, Internet Civilization is als
 o characterized by its distributed computing capabilities. This means that
  the Internet can be used to pool the computing power of millions of devic
 es around the world. This has enabled new applications such as artificial 
 intelligence and machine learning.\n\nThe next frontier for Internet Civil
 ization is the Interplanetary Network (IPN). The IPN will connect Earth to
  other planets and moons in our solar system. This will create a truly gal
 actic civilization, with humans living and working on multiple worlds.\n\n
 The discussion of Internet Civilization at ACM SIGGRAPH will explore the c
 hallenges and opportunities of this new frontier. We will discuss how the 
 challenges will change our society, our economy, and our way of life. We w
 ill also discuss the ethical and social implications of creating the Inter
