SUMMARY:Bent Out of Shape
DESCRIPTION:Chloe Merwin (Ringling College of Art & Design) and Jim McCamb
ell (Ringling College of Art and Design)\n\n"Bent Out of Shape" follows th
e story of a dull, square woman and her child living in a dull, square wor
ld. However, when a bright, circular neighbor moves in next door, the squa
re woman begins to feel that her lifestyle is being threatened. Even worse
, she worries that her child may be affected by the circular neighbor's in
fluence...\n\nThis film is lighthearted, quirky, and fun, but still carrie
s more serious and important undertones in its message. With "Bent Out of
Shape," I hope to offer a new perspective on how remaining close-minded an
d judgmental can affect the world around us. Not only is this film about o
vercoming prejudices, but it also focuses on the issue of parents who may
be overbearing in their attempts to control or shape their children. Throu
gh watching this film, viewers will hopefully have a chance to self-reflec
t as well as reflect on the world around them.\n\nRegistration Category: F
