SUMMARY:3D Geometric Synthesis for Critical Applications
DESCRIPTION:Silvia Sellán (University of Toronto)\n\nMy research uses geom
etric tools to enable completely new workflows in 3D shape synthesis. I bu
ild algorithms that not only allow users to fully express themselves throu
gh 3D creative content creation, but also guide them towards task-specific
design for applications like fabrication and simulation. I use mathematic
al tools to quantify the uncertainty in the 3D geometric capture process s
o that it can be communicated to decision-makers in critical industries. M
y goal is to build a world in which designing, acquiring and processing 3D
geometric information does not require two-dimensional screens nor camera
