SUMMARY:Lightening Talks: Spatial data science + storytelling : a practica
 l perspective
DESCRIPTION:Michela Ledwidge (Mod)\n\nCombining spatial computing and inte
ractive 3D visualisation can give users more intuitive ways to get a handl
e on their data. So why is this sometimes seen as a gimmick? In this prese
ntation we address the practical challenges and barriers to adopting spati
al visualisation for current generation XR hardware - and the benefits. We
show Mod's process developing business knowledge graphs using Grapho - a
spatial visualisation toolkit for Unreal Engine. We address the technical
expertise required, the complexity of data, performance issues, integratio
n with existing systems, standardisation issues, hardware availability and
user acceptance. We offer practical tips on how organisations can overco
me barriers and unlock the full potential combining data science and story
telling.\n\nThe presentation will examine key benefits of graph databases
and the significance of the upcoming new International Standard - Graph Qu
ery Language (GQL). We introduce the concept of Topological Machine Learni
ng pipelines - where the topology of knowledge graphs and data is analysed
to extract higher quality insights.\n\nThe takeaway is concrete tips and
tricks to leverage spatial knowledge graphs in your workplace. Businesses
can vastly improve their ability to interpret data, streamline decision-ma
king processes, and craft compelling narratives through pragmatic use of g
raph data.\n\nRegistration Category: Full Access, Business & Innovation Sy
